  • Overview

    Visual Lease (VL) is looking to hire a junior licensed attorney with legal contracts experience or a senior paralegal. This position will report directly to the Vice President, Accounting & Finance and will engage with Senior Leadership regularly. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, self-motivated person with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.

    What You Will Do

    • Primarily responsible for providing support to the legal department by interfacing with the sales team, prospects and internal Counsel to assist with preparing and editing documents and ensuring compliance with internal procedures during the sales and services expansion processes.
    • This position exercises some discretion and independent judgment in the redlining of NDAs, contracts and amendments and reporting all issues to internal Counsel for review and approval. Responsibilities include:
      • Review redlines from prospects and escalate areas of concern to internal Counsel.
      • Work with sales team regarding acceptable changes to business terms.
      • Review and handle NDA requests from prospects.
      • Work with Client Services to assist with upgrades and expansions to services.
      • Prepare initial amendments and upgrade agreements for review by internal Counsel, with required input from Client Services.
      • Assist Finance and Sales team in managing existing contracts.
      • Review vendor contract terms and conditions.
    • Reports to VP of Finance and Counsel.
    • Will keep both departments apprised of workload on a regular basis.
    • Creates and abides by communication protocols for Sales Team and Client Services team when any contracting issues arise.
    • Will be the Initial point of contact between sales and a prospect during early phases of negotiations.
    • Maintain existing library of standard documents, policies, and procedures.
    • Interact with prospects on conference calls to handle low-risk legal issues during contract negotiations.
    • Field issues, comments, questions and concerns and sources answers for prospect questions and/or internal sales team questions.
    • Communicate with individuals at all levels in the Company and with various business contacts outside of the Company in an articulate, professional manner.
    • ADHOC assignments as necessary.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    What You Will Need

    • Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school, or Paralegal certification with 5 or more years relevant paralegal experience working in an in-house environment
    • Substantive experience drafting, reviewing and editing contracts in relevant subject areas
    • Have a strong work ethic and sense of professionalism and discretion, demonstrating accountability, integrity, good judgment and respect for confidentiality.
    • Must be highly organized and capable of working independently.
    • Self-starter with ability to work under deadline pressure, handling multiple projects.
    • Have a strong desire to learn the business and expand areas of expertise and to function integrally as part of an interdisciplinary team.
